Socks are a big seller at my holiday sales. Needed to make an emergence batch last week before the Yappy Holiday Bazaar in Redmond on Saturday Nov. 21. They look colorful all piled up waiting to be paired and labeled. Bamboo socks are popular. They are the hook for people to browse in my booth. People love bamboo anything since it's a hot item for many products -- think bamboo flooring, sheets, cutting boards, clothing, etc. I love them because they are soft and take the colors beautifully. Plus they are just plain fun to wear.
This painting by Christopher Mathie, an artist from Oak Harbor, WA, I bought in the summer of 2011. My first purchase of professional art. I just love the colors in this painting. I've taken colors from it to paint my walls in my bedroom, hall, stairs and kids' bedrooms. I feel calm surrounded by these colors.
I've been experimenting to capture these colors on scarves. Not nailed it yet but here are a couple attempts. Will keep experimenting. I just love the creative process of finding rich color combinations for my scarves.
Most of my scarf color combinations are inspired by the colors I see when I'm walking the dog.
These Japanese Maples colors are just screaming to be put into a scarf. This scarf is just one variation. I've got other scarves that are more golden and orange or red and brown or green and chartreuese.
I"ve got a pile of scarves with leaves on top--almost can smell the colors.
WSU Cougar Football team are doing great! Gotta figure out how to market to all those Coug fans. Got scarves for sale at my sales coming up.
